Freelance
Graphic Artwork
I have been working as a freelance artist for 6 years, first working as a published illustrator for a series of books beginning in 2015. Upon finding myself furloughed due to the pandemic, I found myself in need of not only a source of income, but also a project to utilise my newly found spare time in the most productive way. This led me to start and run my own business in conjunction to completing my studies at university. I saw this as an opportunity to establish my personal brand and style, develop my knowledge of various softwares such as the Adobe Creative Cloud, as well as to teach myself new softwares such as Procreate.
I was able to sell artwork produced in various styles, ranging from commissioned illustrative interpretations of photos and digital art reproductions, to my own original designs. My independent business gave me the confidence and skills I needed to work in a professional environment. By using Instagram as a platform for my business, I was consistently able to meet the client's brief and deadlines when producing commissions, building a loyal customer base and social media following in the process.
